March 8th, 2024 by

The 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning is a worthy contender for consumers scouring the market for a viable all-electric pickup truck. Like the classic model, the new Ford F-150 Lightning is the leader in the field of electric trucks, and at Ford Lincoln of Cookeville, we’re excited to show it off. Learn of the model’s features and what makes it so formidable in the areas of towing, hauling, and overall performance.

Tow and Payload Capacity

The Ford F-150 Lightning has a base tow capacity of 7,700 pounds and up to 10,000 pounds with the optional Trailer Tow Package that includes the Smart Hitch, Smart Trailer Tow Connection, and Trailer Brake Controller. The cargo bed also has a payload capacity of 2,235 pounds. In the cabin, store additional gear with an easy-to-access under-seat storage space that conveniently keeps belongings out of sight.

Electric Driving Range

The pickup truck is powered by dual electric motors with a single-speed transmission and four-wheel drive. The EPA estimates a 230-mile range on a full charge, thanks in part to the 98-kWh battery. The premium Platinum edition comes with a more robust 131-kWh battery for a total range of 320 miles by EPA’s estimates. With a Level 3 DC Fast Charger, you can recharge the 98-kWh battery from 15% to 80% in just 44 minutes.

Built-in Generator

The Ford F-150 Lightning comes with an onboard power generator that produces 9.6 kW of energy, enough to supply power to your power tools and lighting equipment. Plug in multiple tools and devices at once using any one of the 11 built-in 120-volt outlets. A 240-volt outlet is available. The power is also enough to temporarily power your home in the event of a blackout if connected to the Ford Charge Station Pro.
