Step-by-step Process

1. Position the Vehicles Properly
Park the working vehicle close to the car with the dead battery, but make sure they are not touching. Both vehicles should be in park or neutral, and the parking brakes should be engaged.

2. Connect the Jumper Cables

  • Attach one red (positive) clamp to the positive terminal of the dead battery.
  • Attach the other red clamp to the positive terminal of the working battery.
  • Connect one black (negative) clamp to the negative terminal of the working battery.
  • Connect the remaining black clamp to an unpainted metal surface on the car with the dead battery.

3. Start the Engines

5. Let the Engine Run
Once started, keep the engine running for at least 30 minutes to allow the alternator to recharge the
